Big Update!

Thank you for visiting ScoutingRediscovered.com!

This website is dedicated to spreading information and awareness about the framework of traditional Scouting.

The big idea behind this site is that Scouting is a set of timeless principles and techniques – a framework – that can be applied to many different situations.

Over time, this set of core ideas has been layered with so much extra build-up that it is easy to lose sight of what it really is. Scouting is not simply an organization; it’s not simply a recreation; it’s not simply a leadership school; it’s not simply a uniform.

Now, this blog is dedicated to spreading this big idea far and wide. Let’s dust off traditional Scouting and put the spotlight back on Scouting’s idea and method.

Two points:

1. I will be starting a new post series this Friday (October 10th) that will summarize the core ideas behind traditional Scouting. It’s called “Traditional Scouting 101”. If you haven’t already, make sure you don’t miss this very important series by subscribing to this blog via the box in the sidebar to the right.

2. If you would like to help offset some of the maintenance/hosting costs of this blog, I now have a way for you to do so. There never has and never will be ads or affiliate links on this blog, so instead I’m offering a product I designed. It’s the first-ever Scouting Rediscovered Calendar for 2015. It’s full of beautiful images and inspirational quotes about Scouting. Designed with very high-quality construction, it also has important dates from Scouting’s history along with the usual stock of holidays. It would make an excellent gift or keepsake. You can order one for yourself here: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/ScoutingRediscovered

Thank you for reading Scouting Rediscovered! I hope you’ll stick around and continue to read and contribute to the conversation on traditional Scouting!

Scout on!

Your links under navigation are broke. None of your past articles come up except the ones on the home page. Please fix this. I love your site and your vision. I am trying like hell to put this in place in my troop. I can’t wait for the new series.

Thanks, Mike!

I can’t believe I didn’t notice that before. It should be fixed now. Let me know if you have any more issues.

Keep up the good work. Here in the UK it seems we some times lose what BP was trying to get at. Sometimes in an effort to stay modern we just act like a youth club and not scouts. So your pages are inspiration keep it up!
